Aircraft Orders Update
Last week’s Farnborough Airshow saw aircraft orders of almost $29 billion, a significant increase over last year when orders amounted to about $7 billion. Among the airlines purchasing aircraft at the show were Virgin America, Qatar, Qantas and Emirates. Two aircraft leasing companies, Air Lease Corp. and GE Capital Aviation Services, were two of the show’s biggest purchasers, buying more than $15 billion. Boeing made the international debut of the 787 Dreamliner at the airshow.
