Global Traveler’s Marketplace columnist, Beth Vrabel is a freelance journalist based in York, Pa. Her work has been featured in Spaces, Smart and Inside Dentistry magazines. Beth is the author of ‘‘Hey, Big Spender,’’ a guide to navigating the murky world of when, how much and whom to tip.

Global Games columnist Richard Newton is based near Winchester, England. His credits include The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Sunday Times and the BBC. Richard is the author of M.I.C.E. India.

Ron Bernthal is an award-winning print and broadcast travel journalist. His weekly program, Borders, airs on WJFF public radio, and his articles have appeared in Newsday, Dallas Morning News, Philadelphia Inquirer and other U.S. and Canadian newspapers. The author of First Person: Berlin and Go To: Toronto, Ron is a frequent contributor to GT’s weekly e-newsletter, eFlyer USA. He is also a professor of business and tourism management at SUNY/Sullivan in Loch Sheldrake, N.Y.

Author of Destination One: Cape Town, freelance journalist and photographer Ted Alan Stedman has been on assignment throughout the world. His photo of South African school children is featured in the newly released Awesome South Africa, a celebration of South Africa’s people. Ted is a frequent contributor to Islands, Sunset, Outside and Sport Diver magazines.

A former TV host, Sharon King Hoge travels at least once a month to a first-time destination. Sharon, who writes frequently about travel, is the author of At Home: Houston.

Always at home on a beach, Edward Curran shares the adventure of his first scuba dive in Kicking Back: Tahiti.

Aldona Charlton spent the first part of her career as a writer. After a 25-year diversion as an art director, she has returned to exploring the left side of her brain. The right side remains active designing for various clients. Aldona is the author of Family Business: Cairo.

D. has written about China for scores of publications including Global Traveler, The New York Times, the International Herald Tribune and National Geographic Traveler. Margaret writes two regular columns for the Chicago Tribune Sunday travel section.

A New York-based wine and travel writer, Global Traveler wine columnist Eunice Fried has visited most of the world’s winemaking countries. Other credits include National Geographic Traveler, Preferred Lifestyles, Where New York, The New York Times, Elle and TravelClassics.com.

Alexandra Kirkman, Global Traveler’s Technology columnist, has reported on topics ranging from Latin American billionaires to exclusive hideaways on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

Mary Gallagher, RN, MSN, CCRN, a critical care educator and an advanced and basic cardiac life support instructor, has written articles for Nursing Spectrum and Critical Care Nursing. As Global Traveler’s Travel Rx columnist, Mary offers information and advice related to health issues and concerns that readers may face while traveling.
