Air New Zealand Prepares For Ski Season
Air New Zealand is to increase capacity by 30 percent on flights to ski resort area Queenstown (ZQN) from Auckland (AKL), Sydney (SYD), Melbourne (MEL) and Brisbane (BNE). The southern hemisphere ski season and additional flights will start in April. The carrier’s ability to fly its domestic and international customers into and out of Queenstown over the busy winter season has been further enhanced by the advanced navigation technology now fitted to its 18 Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft. “Required Navigation Performance has proved to be a huge benefit to customers and the airline with excellent reliability into Queenstown through some very challenging weather conditions. Last ski season, not a single one of Air New Zealand's 140 trans-Tasman flights was diverted or cancelled due to poor weather conditions,” said Glen Sowry, general manager Tasman Pacific Airline.
