Spain’s Sol Melia Opens China Hotel

The largest resort hotel company in the world, Sol Meliá Hotels & Resorts, recently opened its first hotel in China. Located in Pudong, the Gran Melia Shanghai Hotel enjoys magnificent views over the Huangpu River towards Puxi. The 686-room Gran Melia has 30 floors making it the tallest free-standing hotel in the city. The hotels’ restaurants feature Spanish gourmet cuisine at La Albufera, traditional Cantonese at Tian Chao, à la carte Italian cuisine at Oasis and a buffet cafeteria providing international dishes. Guests may also enjoy a snack at any of the four different bars, including the Cuban La Floridita and a rooftop bar with views over the river. Guests at the Gran Meliá Shanghai Hotel will also enjoy exclusive access to the YHI Spa, the wellness brand operated by Sol Meliá.
